Bride History I’m really
not good at starting these kinds of things, so I was searching online, and I
found something that would describe me… or at least Tim said it would,
so here it goes… “I had some words with my (fiancé), and she had some
paragraphs with me.” Is that supposed to imply I talk too much?
Nah… So, anyway, a little bit about me… I’m the oldest one
out of us at 19– I was born I grew up in
Stanwood, which, for those of you who don’t know, is far superior to
Morley! (Like that’s really something to brag about, but I tried, eh?)
I went to Stanwood Elementary between Kindergarten and 6th grade,
and then I headed on up to Morley-Stanwood Mid for my 7th and 8th
grade year. Eventually, I graduated from Morley-Stanwood HS in 2003. Right
now, I’m at Since only a
small portion of my life is dedicated to school, I should tell you about the
rest, eh? Most of the time I’m with Tim at his dorm hanging out with
his roommates, but besides that… I play the flute in the university
band, which is fun and a lot less stressful than poor Timmy has to put up
with, whew… I love to color, which may sound silly to you, but I see it
has preparing for my career, so I do it all the time. I also used to like to
watch hockey… but I supposed that’s out of the picture for a year
or two! I like to play video games in small doses, such as Zelda, Final
Fantasy(s), Mario(s), and a little bit of Everquest
thrown in on the side once in a while. I also can’t survive without
some music in the background – right now on my play list I have Harry
Chapin, Cake, the Rocky IV Soundtrack, the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, some Queen, REM, Three Dog Night, the list goes on and on! I also like to
play with my turtles, and occasionally I enjoy beating the boys at some Texas
Hold ‘em! I have to say
something about Tim’s proposal to me because it was the most romantic
thing ever… so of course I want to share it! We got all
dressed up and he blindfolded me. Around and around he drove, and finally we
stopped. He got out, opened my door, took my hand and told me to follow him.
When I finally could take off my blindfold, I saw we were at good old MSHS.
He gave me a rose and said, “This rose is to represent our past …
this is where we met and fell in love…” Then back in the car it
was, and I was, again, blindfolded. The whole time
he was driving me, he was telling me how much he loved me, how special I was
to him, and a number of things that made me cry. Eventually, though, we
arrived at our second stop. He let me take my blindfold off, and we were at Bennigan’s (my favorite restaurant) Here he gave me
a rose and said “This rose is to represent our present, I love
you… now let’s eat!” So we did, and then continued on our
night. The third
place we stopped was the church we’re being married in. He had borrowed
the key from my dad earlier, so I knew we were there… but I still had
to be blindfolded and when I was allowed to remove it, he had led me to the
sanctuary. It was here I got my final rose, and he said, “This rose is
to represent our future… this is the place we’re going to get
married and start our life together, and I love you” I, of course,
cried some more, and we headed to the place that was the most special to
us… the cemetery (if you don’t get this, you might want to read
how we met first…) We walked to the spot where we first kissed, and
then he got down on one knee and told me he loved me, and asked me to marry
him. And of course I said yes! There was a
small snag, though. When I had gotten dressed up, I had put on some dressy sandals
(the only dress shoes I have), and we’d been standing in 4 inches of
snow while he proposed, and while we hugged and admired the ring. When I
tried to walk to the car, my feet were so frozen and cold it hurt to even
look at them let alone walk on them. So, he had to run and bring the car to
me, and it took about an hour for my feet to get all the feeling back in
them. He was so smooth about it, though… he said he’d planned
that so I wouldn’t get cold feet the day before the wedding. Isn’t he horribly romantic? I thought so, too… Well, I suppose I’d better wrap
this up. Thanks for reading and I look forward to seeing you at the wedding!
